Q&A

Yes. However, common water safety guidelines are always recommended (eg. personal flotation devices/life jackets, boats with paddles, informing others of your travel plans, etc). September tends to have the lowest river flow which should make for a leisurely paddle and the safest conditions.
Yes. Water in the North Saskatchewan River is typically rated good to excellent and is safe for touching, wading, fishing, etc. As with any raw water source (eg. lakes, streams, etc), it is not recommended for drinking without treatment.
Here’s what happens:
• Each guest will be fitted with a personal flotation device/life jacket.
• You will pick up your raft and carry it to the river’s edge
• Paddling instructions will be provided prior to launch
• It will take up to 2 hours depending on how much you paddle
• There will be people at the take out area to help you land your raft
• You will be shuttled back to Whitemud Park
Rafts and seats are available first come first served. Quantities are limited.
Your safety is a priority. Event organizers have worked closely with Fire Rescue, a certified river outfitter and EPCOR’s emergency response team to consider the safety of all of our guests.
You will be provided with the following:
• Personal flotation device/life jacket
• Bailer
• Safety whistle
• Paddling instructions

We will have people on the river throughout the length of the float to keep an eye on all of our paddlers. In the event of a significant storm event or abnormal water levels, the event organizers may make the decision to cancel the event.

Based on the recommendations of our safety advisors, the nature of the event activity and sizing of available life jackets, we had to establish a minimum age for participation. We have planned lots of land based family friendly activities for those that are unable to paddle.
No. Due to the number of people and volume of equipment, it would be impossible to adequately monitor to ensure safety standards were met.
Sorry. No refunds can be provided. Feel free to pass your tickets along to someone else that can use them. In the event that weather dictates the need to cancel the event, refunds may be provided.
Yes. Please bring either a printed or electronic ticket with you. This will be verified on site prior to you signing your waiver to participate.
The event will proceed rain or shine so come prepared for all weather conditions.

However, we have established safety protocols for river levels and extreme weather. If either requires that the event be cancelled, you will be notified via the email you provided on registration.
